Insulin
Insulin is a hormone made by beta cells from inside the pancreas. With each meal we eat, beta cells release insulin to assist the body to use or store the blood glucose (sugar) it gets from food.
 |
Insulin cannot be taken as a pill. This is because insulin would be broken down during digestion just like the protein in the food we each. |
Therefore, insulin much be injected into the fat under our skin in order for it to reach into our blood.
